The chin cord was a lifesaver during a breezy afternoon sail — the hat stayed put even as the boat picked up speed. The 4-inch brim kept the sun off my neck and ears perfectly.

Wore this all day at the beach and the cotton chin cord saved it more than once when the wind picked up. The rush straw weave has a nice texture and it stays surprisingly cool even in direct sun.

The 4" brim actually blocks the sun from my whole face, which my old cap never did. Chin cord held tight when the wind picked up on the boat, no holding it down all afternoon.
